I am researching my gggrandfather Samson/Sampson Platt, born 1836, England. He enlisted in Union army in Cannellton, Ind. His family settled in and around Hopkins county, Kentucky. I have copies of his army papers. He married Margaret Hall (b: 1848 England). Had children: James Edward (my ggrandfather) John, Ida, Carrie (married Nick Aschoff - ), Mary. The children moved on to MO,ILL, IND and OK.
I believe I have found Sampson’s christening record in Dunkinfield, Cheshire, England. Parents were John & Christiana.
Also researching George W. WADE and Geroge W. BURTON families in or around St. Louis and Lake Creek.
