Hello,
I am back doing my research on my GRAVES family lines. I am hoping someone might be able to help me with the following family lines:
Hannah CORDER m. John GRAVES on 14 July 1815 in Allen Co., KY. They later supposedly moved to Williamson Co., IL and had children there. I believe my great-grandfather, John J. GRAVES was a son of John and Hannah (Corder) GRAVES but cannot prove it. I can't find anyone who has information on who John and Hannah's children were or where John and Hannah actually lived. Any information or suggestions on how to trace this line is very much appreciated.
The 1850 census for Williamson Co., IL has Hugh and Jane (BOYD) PARKS with the following children:
Elizabeth A. "Betsy": b. 1835, IL
Evaline: b. 1837
Rufus: b. 1839
Polly (may be nickname for Mary): b. 1839
John: b. 1841
Margaret: b. 1843
Hugh: b. 1845
Emily b. 1847-48
Elizabeth m. 1. William Tanner (1843) and 2. John J. Graves (1876). Elizabeth and William had the following children: James, Hugh, Nancy Jane, and Mary "Mollie" Tanner. I am hoping to find information on the descendants of these children. I know James m. Catherine HILL and had at least 3 daughters in 1880: Elizabeth, Izabell, and Nora, all born in Williamson Co., IL. Mary "Mollie" married Albert ANDERSON, either in IL or possibly somewhere in MO when a lot of the family moved to AR.
Elizabeth and John had a daughter, Malinda "Linda" Graves, in 1877. Malinda married James Riley KEYS. I know of two of their children: Mable Marie and Floyd, but have no other information on any other children or descendants.
John J. GRAVES was married first to Mary "Polly" CLINE on October 29, 1843 in Williamson Co., IL. I think they may have moved back and forth from Williamson CO. to Allen Co., KY. I am needing help finding out who Mary "Polly"'s parents were and where they came from. John and Mary had two other children, William and Mary GRAVES born in the late 1850's. I have no idea when Mary "Polly" died or what happened to her children, William and Mary. They don't show up on the 1870 census for Williamson Co., yet I can't find any obits for them either.
I have been trying to find marriage dates for Hugh and Jane's children ( I have Elizabeth's) and the names of their spouses and children also. I will be happy to share what information I have on Elizabeth's descendants, as they are my line of the family.
If anyone can please help me with any of these brick walls I have come across, I would greatly appreciate it. Any suggestions, comments, or queries about these family lines, I will answer to the best of my knowledge.
