Yes, I do have information on Sybil Gibbons (born in 1923)who married Ernest Hal Chamness (b. September 4, 1920 d. August 8, 1997.
My records show that Ernest was born in Creal Springs in Williamson County, IL. He was buried in Marion in Williamson County at the age of 76. According to my records, Ernest and Sybil had one daughter and one son.
Ernest Hal was the son of Elmer Earl Chamness and Libbie Caldwell. They too lived in Williamson County. Elmer was born October 1, 1883 in Bainbridge, IL and died June 10, 1963 and is buried in Creal Springs. Libbie, his wife, was born August 19, 1894 in New Burnside, IL and died in Marion on September 26, 1968. In addition to Ernest Hal, their other children were sons Carroll, Elmer Wayne, Ralph Carlos, and Carrel S.
Elmer Earl Chamness was the son of Steven Sylvester Chamness and Nettie E. Whitacre. Steven Sylvester was the son of Stephen Gardner Chamness and Hannah Jane McCown. Steven Gardner Chamness was the son of Joseph Chamness and Celia Gardner.
Joseph Chamness (1801-1873) was the son of John Chamness and Sarah Sally Berry (my GGG Grandmother and GGG Grandfather. This is a small world, isn't it?
The Celebrating Chamness Book, available the first of 2008 from M. T. Publishing Company (www.mtpublishing.com), does include all dates and history of the Chamness folks back to 1650 in England.
I do have quite a bit of information also on Sybil Gibbons. I have her mother and father, grandparents on the Gibbons' side and miscellaneous data on Gertrude Elmore who married Henry B. Gibbons in 1899 in North Carolina.
