John Inscho and Betsey Houck had a son named James Frank Inscho who went to Canada, Houghton, Norfolk County, and then Tuscola County, Wells Township, Michigan. James F. Inscho married the widow of my great grandfather William C. Putman of Wells. Her name was Mary Chambers. Very interested in obtaining information on this Inscho family and the Putman's of course. Williams seems to have been the son of John Putman of the "Houcke Neighborhood", Town of Wayne, Steuben County, New York. John went on to Delhi, Ontario, Norfolk County, Canada. William C. seems to have come to Michigan with the Chambers, Fosters, Inscho's, Ketchum and others to work in the lumber woods near the Cass River about 1856. James Ketchum's mother was Jane Wheat, and William Putman's great grandmother may have been a Weizener, which is German for Wheat. Also, spelled Wisner. Michigan's governor Wisner was elected about 1858. Mark Notify Administrator about this message?
