Martha, at this point, I think we must seriously consider that OUR Richard was indeed a product of his marriage to Mary (SPARKS/GARDNER/WHOMEVER). Haven't thought much beyond that at the moment, tho. Another thing, Richard JACKS (to whom I refer as "ca 1739") is referred to as "Richard JIM/JAMES Jacks" as well as "Richard REUBEN Jacks" and I have not found the correct answer there. Our Richard had a son named Reuben. If we can ferret out this inconsistency, we may find the proper Richard for the proper Mary!
