Sorry, Violet, I have no proof of the marriage. I have a cousin in Virginia who might have but she lost her husband last year and is 84 years old and says her papers are packed away someplace. She has a daughter who is taking care of her mother and her own family - not an easy situation in which to ask anything of them but maybe eventually.
Then there is a cousin - I believe he is second cousin once removed from me whom I have never met. My daughter found him on the internet and he has been very helpful and has some knowledge of our ancestors but his papers are also packed way.
