The 1880 Federal Census for Eel River, Indiana (Hendricks County), lists the following individuals in a household: "James H. Jacks" (head), age 52, born in Kentucky, father born in NC, mother born in VA; "Nancy C. Jacks", (wife) age 48, born in Indiana, parents born in VA; "Elly Jacks" (dau), age 19, born in IN; "Emma R. Jacks" (dau), age 17, born in IN; "Milton H. Jacks" (son), age 16, born in IN; "Ethelind Lee Jacks" (dau), age 14, born in IN; "Cora B. Jacks" (dau), age 12, born in IN; "Beatrice Jacks" (dau), age 10, born in IN; and "Justena Jacks" (dau), age 6, born in IN.
