The suit between the children of Jacob Brinegar & Mary (Prock) Brinegar and the heirs of Mary Prock Brinegar Jacks is located in the NC Archives. Mary married firs in 1768 and her mother gave consent, making her under age at the time of her marriage. So she was born about 1755 (under 14 in 1768). Joyce Hory and I paid someone to go through the boxes in the archives and she had copies during her life time and due to her illness all I got was her brief write up. She was a very accurate person. Single woman could not own land in their own name unless they were a widow - thus Mary (not Mary ANN) Brinegar got a land grant. Her husband Jacob Brinegar died 1783 Rowan Co., NC. Mary was the daughter of Paul Prock & Margaret according to several people - I've yet to see any proof. Matthias is listed as Mary's brother. So there is that tid-bit for what it is worth. My interest was to get proof of the children of Jacob and Mary - people had sent me lots of different names and no proof so a hunting we did go. Joy Alexander Notify Administrator about this message?
