Jacober Family Genealogy Forum

My grandfather, George Herbert, was one of Joseph Kasper Jacober's 13 children. He was a barber who loved to fish. Grandpa taught me to fish when I was very young.
I have researched your line of the family and on the 1900 Census there was another son listed, Ferdinand W., born Nov 1885.
Anna Salome Räss Jacober arrived in New York on March 16, 1870 on the ship Cimbria from Hamburg. She was a widow with 5 children, Anna, Casper(my great-grandfather), Ferdinand, Emil, and Babette. I have contacted the Swiss Archives and they sent me information about the family back to the 1700s. Our Jacober surname was originally spelled Jakober. They came from the canton Glarus. I believe the oldest daughter, Anna, married another shipmate, Anton Noetzli. In 1900 Anna Noetzli was living at the 304 W. Pratt address with a niece, Annie Hild. I do not have much information on the other siblings, Emil and Babette. Has your father ever heard of Ferdinand's brother in Cincinnati? Anna Räss Jacober is listed in the Baltimore City directory from 1882 until 1885. The Maryland State Archives could not find a death record for her after 1885. I am curious as to what happened to her. I would be happy to share any of the documents that I have acquired. My email address is menner@earthlink.net. I look forward to hearing from you.
