This Jacobs family immigrated from Darmstadt, Hessen, DEU (Germany) on the ship "Goethe," sailing from Bremen to Baltimore in September 1844. These individuals are all related, though some from a previous marriage(s) of the patriarch, Adam, and some are poss. nieces. Family lore says they were Jewish in Germany, Christian in USA. The family settled for a time in PA. From there, some migrated to OH, IL & IN. Brackets are mine.

Adam Jacobs, 52 [b. 1792, Backnang, Baden-Wuertemmburg]
Carlote, 32 [Charlotte, Karlotta, b. abt. 1812]
Bernhardt, 25 [aka Barnaby/Barney/Bernard/Benjamin in IL]
Margrethe, 20 [b. abt. 1824, prob. aka Margaret, Maggie]
Maria, 15 [b. abt. 1929, prob. aka Marie, Mary]
Johannes, 12? [b. abt. 1832, aka John]
Nicolaus, 8 [b. abt. 1836, aka Nicholas > IL]
Margrethe, 4 [b. abt. 1840]
Adam, 1 [b. 1843]

If these names and birth dates jibe with yours, let's connect and compare notes. (There are 2 of us cousins working together on this family.)
