Henry A. Sabine

Have heard that the OK Sabine line may have sarted with a Jacobson, who took the name Sabine from the Sabine River in TX to save his prominent brother from embarassment over his illegal activity. The family name had been Jacobson. Can anyone shed any light on this family? The change would have been in the 1880's, I think. The earliest Sabine I have, Henry Alexander, Sr., had a mother from Denmark, first name Sina or Sinia.
ANY help appreciated. Thanks, Katharine
