Sally, please keep in mind that there are two distinct JAGGER families -- one (mine) has a long history in Southampton, Suffolk County, Long Island, NY -- and the other (which evolved into the spelling of JAGGAR) from Stamford, CT. Also keep in mind that Southampton and Stamford are very, very close to each other geographically so the two families are most probably really the same. I say all this to make sure you are aware of both groups....for there was a John Jagger who was married to Hannah Cross -- this was in the Stamford, CT Jagger line. This John Jagger (son of Jeremiah Jagger) was born in 1643 in Stamford, CT and died there 16 Oct 1684. His wife, Hannah, is the daughter of William Cross and Margaret Weeche. Soooooooo, what I'm saying is you must verify which Jagger line you are tracking -- the one from Stamford, CT or the one from Southampton, NY. This tracking is also complicated by the continued use of the same given male names in both Jagger lines -- John, Jonathan, Jeremiah, Nathan, Samuel. It is both confusing and intriguing! Best wishes, Sandi Jagger Gauthier Notify Administrator about this message?
