Hello Diane, Thanks for your speedy reply. I would like the info on Thomas and on Charlotte's children if you would be so kind. In respect of Charles, he was born in 1851 in the County of York. He married Elizabeth Newell born 1854 in the County of York on the 16th June 1872. The ceremony took place in the parish of Lofthouse by the Reverend Robert Chadwick. I can send you a copy of the certificate if you like. Out of that union I know from family sources and newspaper clippings that they had six children, but unfortunatly I can only find records for the following: John William born 1873, my great, grandfather. Alfred born 1878. Mary Elizabeth born 1880.At the time of the 1881 British census they resided at Ouzelwell Green Lofthouse Cum Carlton York. Charles occupation was a coal miner. On Thursday the 24th Feb 1887 Charles took his own life by drowning himself in the Lee Moor Quarry. The death certificate gives cause of death as temporary insanity. Apparently according to the press release he had been threatening suicide for some considerable time. In respect of Alfred and Mary I have no further information. Although I am currently in communication with the MOD and the War Graves Commision about Alfred, who it is thought was killed in WW1 in Ypres Belgium. If you like I can send further details about my Great Grandfather John William and his children. Please let me kmow. Notify Administrator about this message?
