Hannah Jagger Chipman ancestors, 1600s &1700s, NY

Hannah Jagger was born about 1794 according to census records. She married Amos Chipman around 1810 in VT and moved to NY where she died in the 1840s. Her father is listed as Josiah Jagger in a Chipman family record book. Josiah Jagger is listed in censuses for 1820 in Covington, NY and for 1810 and 1800 in Sunderland, VT on the same pages as Amos Chipman's family. There is a Josiah Jagger of the right age in the 1776 and the 1790 censuses in Southampton, NY. There is a Josiah listed as a son in the will of a Samuel Jagger (roughly 1725-1782) written 18 Sep 1771; proved 03 Jul 1782; Southampton, NY. Does anyone know anything more about these Jaggers? I'm guessing that it's only a generation or two to get back to the first generation American John Jagger who married Hannah Cross (1600s)? Help! Thanks - Janice
