I have traced my ancestors as far as Jeremiah Jagger born 1610 in England. Arrived in Salem, Mass in 1630 aboard the Arabella of the Winthrup fleet. Left from Yarmouth. He helped settle Wethersfield, either MA or CT in 1635 and was one of 28 men who left Wethersfield to settle a new colony of Puritans in Stamford, Conn. in 1641. He lived on the south side of North Street, which is now Broad Street. He was in the Pequot War of 1637. He was master of trading vessels to the West Indies,he took ill while on route to Barbados in the West Indies (malaria) and died August 14, 1658. He is buried in Barbados. I can go no farther it seems. Does anyone know who his parents were and or where exactly he was born? I am connected to the Jaggers through Recompence Halsey who married Hannah Jagger daughter of yet another Jeremiah) and was born in Southampton L.I. NY I have successfully traced the Halseys well beyond their arrival in America, to Great Gaddesden in England. I am also connected to the Stansboroughs of Southampton through marriage of one of the Halsey sons but have not yet traced them beyond Southampton. If you have informtion you think I might need or vice versa please contact me. Notify Administrator about this message?
