I AM ALMOST POSITIVE THAT WE ARE REFERING
TO THE SAME REV. GREEN JAKES,HOWEVER I AM
THE OFFSPRING OF HIS SECOND MARRIAGE. THIS
REV. GREEN JAKES WAS BROUGHT HERE FROM AFRICA
ALONG WITH FOUR MORE BROTHERS AND SOLD INTO SLAVERY IN TENNESSEE. FROM THERE THE FIVE BROTHERS WERE SOLD TO DIFFERENT PLANTATIONS.
GREEN WAS SOLD TO HTE JAKES PLANTATION HERE IN ALABAMA THIS IS WHERE HE MARRIED MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER SAVANNAH THEY HAD TWELVE OR THIRTEEN CHILDREN MY GRANDMOTHER WAS ONE OF THEM THIS WAS HIS SECOND SET OF CHILDRENS.REV.GREEN AND SAVANNAH JAKES IS BURIED HERE IN PHENIX CITY ALA. IN THE FAMILY
CEMETARY THAT HE BOUGHT.90% OF HIS OFFSPRINGS
IS HERE AND THEY HAVE LONG LIFESPANDS.
