I am a Jesso in the midwest US. Father was born in Massachusetts. I'd always heard that the Jesso name was of French extraction. But looking through some Ellis Island records, it appears that there were a few Jesso's that immigrated from the Slavik countries. It is such an uncommon name and so hard to find anything about it. Other than knowing that of the handful there are, most are in Canada or New England, US.
