I too have "John" in my family. I would like to share the info with everyone that have. Maybe someone can help me piece together what I have. My 7th great was a John Jessup born about 1628 in Fairfield CT (was he the 1st Jessup born in the US?) he harried a Mary born about 1631 in West Chester NY. My 6th great was a John born about 1650 in Fairfield CT died 19 1710 in South Hampton, Long Island, Suffolk NY married on 16 Jun 1669 to Elizabeth born abt.1648 in Long Island NY. My 5th great was Stephen Jessup b 1710 in South Hampton. Long Island NY died about 1764 in Deerfield, Cumberland NJ married a Mary Dare. My 4th great was Isaac born in NJ married Nancy Ann Robinson. My 3rd great was Isaac Jessup marreid to a Mary Smith. My 2nd great was Lewis Baily Jessup married to Chloe Culp. My great Mary Patty Jessup married to Ira Bennitt- in Indiana.
So I hope someone out there can pice together waht I have. I have Lewis was records-or I should say a cousin gave me copies. He was a very tall 6 foot man, with black hair, dark eyes and dark skin. My grandmother always wondered about maybe a bit of Indian?? I do not know. But I would like to find some help from someone. Thank you in advance.
