Hi Bruce, My Johner/Jahner family settled in the Berwick/Towner area, McHenry Co.,ND in 1901. My grandfather was Joachim Johner. He had following known brothers Frank, Peter, & Kasper and known sisters Anna, Walburger, & Magdalena. Jochim's parents were Karl and Johanna (Schatz) Johner/Jahner. They came from the German settlement of Mannheim, Kutschurgan District, South Russia. My father was John Johner, born in Harvey, ND. in 1910. My grandfather, Joachim & his brother, Frank brought their families to Texas in 1915 and changed the spelling of the name to Yohner.

I do not know who the siblings of Karl Johner/Jahner were or if any of his siblings came to America or Canada. I can only suspect they did. I believe Karl's father was named Michael Johner/Jahner.

If you find connection, please let me know.
Paul Yohner
