John Henry Johnson, 66, Saint Paul, VA, died Saturday,
September 19, 2009, at his home.
He was born February 26, 1943, in Clinchco, VA, son of the
late Bud David and Minnie Belle Marshall Johnson. He
attended the West Dante Community Church.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Johnson,
Earl Johnson, and Bobbie Joe Johnson; one sister, Betty
Lois Mays.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Johnson; one daughter,
Regina Conley and husband Doug, of Hickory, NC; one son,
John Fitzgerald Johnson of Nickelsville, VA; two step
sons, Michael Salyer and wife Sharon, of Saint Paul, VA,
Mark Salyer and wife Debbie, of Castlewood, VA; one sister,
Maxie Culbertson and husband Raymond, of Lebanon, VA;
three brothers, Winfred Johnson and wife Margaret, of
Rural Retreat, VA, Roger Johnson of Marion, VA, and Blaine
Johnson and wife Ann, of Detroit, MI; four granddaughters,
Brittany Byrd, Taylor Byrd, Kaitlyn Salyer, and Adriana
Salyer; one grandson, Ethan Johnson McCoy; and several
nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.,
Monday, September 21, 2009, in Castlewood Funeral Home,
Castlewood, VA
Funeral Services for John Henry Johnson will be conducted
at 7:30 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009, in the Castlewood
Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, VA, with Pastor Danny
Meade and Rev. Ted Bryant officiating.
Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in
processions leaving for the cemetery at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday.
Committal Services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday,
September 22, 2009, in a Family Cemetery in Saint Paul,
VA. Pallbearers will be Kevin Hileman, Kenneth Hileman,
Josh Hileman, Billy Hileman, Matthew Hileman, and Terry
Mays. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Surratt, Guy Keith,
Dwight Salyer, and David Estep.
