Seeking information about the family of Benjamin Johnson listed in Johnson County, AR, census records for 1880. Wife was Emily.Children listed were Charles W., Mary A., Anny, Lula, Alice V.. Also in the household was Rachel Lindsey, his step-daughter.
I have probate records which mention the children Ann, Lula, Alice and also Mattie as Sizemores, heirs of Mary A. Sizemore. Mary A. Johnson is given as the guardian. Mattie may have been born after the 1880 census. Mary A. Sizemore may have married and her husband adopted the younger children before she and he both died.
Lots of speculation. I can't figure this family out. Must have been several marriages and deaths involved. If it weren't for so many of the names all being in one census record, I wouldn't have believed it was the same family, but it's too much of a coincidence to not be.
Any help appreciated.
