Jake made his way to Texas from Alabama. Was married to a woman with the initials M. H. ? (maiden name unk). They had 4 children: Mary b.1848 Alabama, Frank (female) b.1850 Alabama, Jake b.1865 Texas and John b.1870 Texas.
The 1880 census shows the family (mother widowed) living in Precinct 2, Panola, Texas.
The son Jake may have been later associated with gambler/gunfighter Luke Short in the White Elephant Saloon, Fort Worth.
