Since posting this query I have learned that James Thomas Johnson was the son of James O. Johnson and Pamelia (Millie) Roberts. James O Johnson and his brother Thomas were born in Alabama. They were orphaned when they were very young. They were taken to White County Tn. and raised by a Knowles family. Thomas married Mary Jane Roberts, sister of Pamelia. James O Johnson's second wife was reportedly Katherine Thompson. Any additional information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
