According to the GOGGANS family book, M.S. Eve's "Our Folks," this is Mary JOHNSTON who m. James GOGGANS:

1 Thomas JOHNSTON... Of Onslow Co., NC, moved to SC
-+Elizabeth DALRYMPLE... Of Onslow Co., NC, moved to SC
-2 Mary JOHNSTON b: 1752       d: 1816 Sandy Run, Newberry, SC
----+James GOGGANS       b: Sep 16, 1751 Culpeper, VA       m: 1769 SC       d: Oct 25, 1826 Newberry, SC       Burial: Near Newberry, SC       Father: William GOGGANS Mother: Elizabeth BEAL

My husband descends from BUTLERs who married into the GOGGANS family twice in his line. In fact, one is Catherine JOHNSON [who I wonder if she might be JOHNSTON, above?] who m. Daniel BUTLER...

1 Daniel BUTLER       b: ca 1762       d: Aft. Jan 28, 1823 (LWT - Newberry, SC)
-+Catherine JOHNSON       b: ca 1765       m: 1783 Newberry Co., SC       d: Bet. 1823 - 1838 SC

His LWT:
p. 114. 28 Jan. 1823.. I, Daniel Butler, being infirm in body but of sound mind & memory. First I desire that my just debts & funeral expenses be paid. I give unto my dtr. Rhody one bed & furniture & such other articales [sic] as the others have had. I give unto my other unmarried children viz: Rachel, Jane, Catherine, and James. I give to my beloved wife Catherine Butler 150 acres of land whereon I now live. After her death I wish that my son James Butler do have the said land forever, also to my son James one horse worth $50 with the saddle & bridle worth $20. I give to each of my dtrs. (except Elizabeth Johnson) $30 to be paid at the death of my wife. I give to my dtr. Jane at the death of my wife $100. The remainder part of land after the surveyed 150 acres for my beloved wife I give to my son John forever. All other property not given in this will to be sold & the money equally divided among my children. I appoint my wife Catherine Butler & my sons David & Henry executors. Wit: Martin Carter, Thomas Childress & Lewis X Fowler.. signed Daniel Butler.. (No proved date or person qualified as executor given ..)

Edgefield County, S.C., Wills 1787-1836, p. 152
I would love any additional insight!
