You are great for helping this way. I really appreciate your time in this. I had found the correct name as Zweifel after much time and research. I am doing the Coons genealogy but this information always helps and I do like to put this in my file. We have found recently found that our Coons was originally Kunz from Free Canton Berne Switzerland. Our direct ancestor was Edward Francis Kunz that changed his last name to Coons. He had 2 brothers Frederick Coons and Robert Kunz that went to St. Louis, MO. A sister Mary Kunz married a Celestin Brossard (which maybe a various of the spelling) in Madison Co., IL. We feel that the parents immigrated to the United State abt. 1835 - 1836 but have not found the parents. All the children were born in Switzerland with Mary being born abt. 1835 and we feel that Edward is the oldest being born abt. 1820.
