I am a descendant of Joseph Keithline (1773-1848) and Elizabeth Premauer (1780-1866) through their daughter Mary. She was born May 10, 1803 in Sussex County, New Jersey. She married May 16, 1830 at Northampton County, Pennsylvania to George Gross and they settled in Luzerne County where they remained until 1838 when they moved to Lycoming County. George Gross died February 1,1845 and is buried at Muncy. Mary remained on the farm there until 1856 when she removed to DeKalb County, Illinois with her six children and nephew, William Remala(1829-1896). Mary died February 15, 1880 and is buried at the Vandeburgh cemetery in DeKalb County, Illinois.
The children of Mary (Keithline) Gross were:
1. Sarah Gross b.1831 d.1916 m. 1858 to Mathias Ault.
2. Joseph Keithline Gross b.1833 d.1924 m.1866 to Sarah Jane "Jennie" Dimon (my gr.gr. grandparents).
3. William Gross b.1835 d.1886 m.1858 to Harriet Ault and 2nd m.1872 to Julia Fague.
4. Elizabeth Gross b.1838 d.1924 m.1859 to David L. Moyer.
5. Catherine Ann Gross b.1840 d.1919 m.1887 to Cyrus Robinson.
6. Mary Gross b.1842 d.1867.
William Remala b.1829 d. 1896 m.1866 to Mary Ann Rote, was a son of Catherine Keithline and lived next door to Mary in Illinois.
Mary's family bible (printed 1828) still remains in the family and photocopies are available to anyone interested.
