Keevil Family Genealogy Forum

Greetings! I am researching a Kevill line possibly originating in County Sligo (Kilfree parish) and emigrating to the USA in 1864 (arriving New York City). Among these immigrants were my GGGrandmother, Mary Ann Kevill (b.~1855), her aunt Mary Jane Kevill (who was only a few years older), and her grandparents, James Kevill and Mary Irwin. The latter two died shortly after arriving in the U.S. Mary Ann Kevill married Peter F. O'Sullivan in 1872 in Sioux City, Iowa and settled in West Point, Cuming County, Nebraska. Mary Jane Kevill married Thomas F. Malone also in 1872 in Sioux City, Iowa. They remained in that city. Other members of this Kevill immigrant family settled in South Dakota and Massachusetts. The surname is variously spelled in official documents as Keevil, Kevill, Kevil, and Keawell. I'm hoping to connect with others researching this line.
