Don't know if this relates at all, but my g-g-grandmother was Mary Kelman (b. 1842)from Aberdeen, Scotland. She married Alexander Watson and emmigrated to St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada in about 1873. You mentioned the Robertson middle name as from the mother's side of a family, so I thought there may be a connection here, as my Mary's grandparents were James Kelman and Lily Robertson.

By the way, I never knew my Mary Watson's maiden name was Kelman until researching her children's graves in St. Thomas 2 weeks ago. One of her sons was John Kelman Watson, and the caretaker mentioned that Kelman was probably from the maternal side. We then found her grave and sure enough, Mary Kelman Watson was her name. I since found her parents and grandparents through the familysearch.org site.

Well do you think we connect? What part of Canada did your Kelmans go to?
