I am searching for the father of my great grandfather, Benjamin Franklin McNamer, who was born Benjamin Franklin Kenney to (Unknown)Kenney of Missouri and Martha Jane Chance of Iowa.
Benjamin Franklin(Unknown) Kenney and Martha Jane Chance had the following childre:
1. Olley Kenney, born in Missouri about 1874
2. Jennett E. Kenney, born in Missouri about 1878
3. Benjamin F. Kenney, born in Osborne County, Kansas, 21 Jan 1880.
In the June 1880 Census of Osborne County, Kansas, Martha was listed as a widow and she and her children were living with her parents, Thomas H. Chance and Julina Parks Chance.
Martha married Isaac McNamer about 1882 and he apparantly adopted Jennett E. whom we know as Esther, and my grandfather, Benjamin. Esther married young, moved to Spokane, Washington and died there at a young age. No one in our family remembers ever hearing my great grandfather talk about an older brother, Olley, although he did talk about Esther.
