My great grandparents Michael Joseph Kenney (b 4/19/1882) and Mary Elizabeth Kenny (yes, her maiden name was one letter off) (b 3/25/1882) lived in Hacketstown, County Carlow before immigrating to the US and settling in Hartford, CT. Their death certificates say that they were born in County Carlow (MJK) and County Wicklow (MEK). Does anyone know anything about the Kenney family in Southeastern Ireland? Most surname info lists an English family from Wexford that settled in Galway and a native Galway Irish family (originally O Cionaoith in Irish Gaelic). Does anyone know of County Carlow Kenneys or if they are related to the Galway family?
MJK and MEK's parents were listed as James Kenney and Elizabeth Moriarty (MJK) and Henry Kenny and Margaret Brady (MEK). Does anyone have more info on them?
