My own Kessler (or Kesseler) ancestors came from the Koblenz region on the Rhine River, but I have the impression that the surname crops up all over Germany. Although I am not certain, it could originate from an occupational term, having something to do with chains (chainmaker, maybe). Notify Administrator about this message?
