A biography of Nickolas Kessler is included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Father: Nickolas Kessler, owned a small farm near Befort, Luxemburg. In 1854, Nickolas, the son, came to New York and moved on to Detroit, Michigan, where he owned a grocery store. Later moved to Chicago, Colorado, and in 1863 to Montana. In 1873, Nickolas married Miss Louisa Ebert, a native of New York City. Louisa died in 1880, leaving two sons and a daughter, Charles N., Frederick E., Matilda. Nickolas Kessler died 11 Dec 1901, Helena, MT.
