My ancestor William Hawkins 1609-1699 came over and settled Rhode Island with Roger WIlliams. He was one of the first proprietors of Providence, and in early history
it states "He stayed and defended the colony during the Pequot War". He was married to Margaret Harewood, son William 1639 m Lydia Ballou Gardiner, son John Married Mary Smith, son Zephiniah married Mary Marvel all in and around Providence RI Son Abraham 1760 moved to Vermont fought in Rev.
