Of course I know William claimed France! That was the whole reason for fighting the War - to get at the French. He was fighting them before the revolution.
The restoration of Charles 11 ended Cromwells ' Republics 'as he was declared ' King of Great Britain and Ireland on 5th February 1649 - he eventually became so on 25th May 1660 - 30 years before the Boyne.
James was Duke of York when Charles was King and was in England at this time
The Stuarts had not bothered with Scotland since James I & VI became King of Great Britain & Ireland.
