Thankful Kinne was born in Preston, CT in about 1747. There is a record that she married Asa Burton of Preston in 1766. There is also a record that Thankful Kinne later married John Utley in 1780. However, Asa Burton appears to have lived until at least 1816. As it seems that Thankful was not widowed by 1780, does anyone know if and when Thankful and Asa were divorced? Or if there is some other explanation? It is, of course, possible that there were other individuals so named but I have been unable to find other Asa Burtons, Thankful Kinnes or John Utleys whose locations and birth dates fit the marriage records.
