Hi Judy,
Old message, but my family tree plugs into this line from Roswell and Anna Burton to Roswell, jr. and Jerusha Rust to Albert Kinney and Lois Samson.

Ephraim Herrick and Mary Cross had sons Stephen Herrick and Ephraim Herrick.
Stephen Herrick married Elizabeth Trask and their daughter, Mary Herrick married Jacob Burton.
Ephraim Herrick married Judith Woodbury and their daughter,
Priscilla married Stephen Kinney.
Mary Herrick married Jacob Barton on August 20, 1729.
Daugher of Mary Herrick Burton was Anna Burton, born Oct.7, 1739.
Son of Stephen and Priscilla Herrick Kinney was Roswell Kinney.
Mary Burton and Roswell Kinney were 2nd cousins.
(Their mothers Mary and Priscilla Herrick were 1st cousins and their grandparents, Stephen and Ephraim were brothers.)

The family is believed to have moved to Dutchess County, New York, after the death of Jacob's wife, Mary. A Jacob Burton appears on the tax rolls there from 1556 until 1770, first in Nine Partners/Crum Elbow and then in Amenia.
In Bucks compilation, Jacob Burton is on the tax list in Nine Partners/Crum Elbow from February 1756 to February 1762, then transferred to Ameria from February 1762 to 1770. (Harold Henderson)
