Thanks, Alan...very helpful...the 1840 Fed Census shows a Charles C. Kinney in Kent, Rhode Island..Was Mary Scott from RI-if so, anything on her parents?...CCH & family NOT in RI in 1850, rather it appears he & family moved to New York...names, ages,etc. appear similar to info you have given me..for 1860-1880 census in NY...even POBs seem in line...Charles & Jane born in CT, Wm., Angeline & MaryAnn in RI, then James(George?) J. in NY...
