I am in 7th heaven. I have been using ancestry.com and a new friend suggested I try genealogy.com. So glad to see other people trying to build the Kiser tree. I started my husbands tree around Thanksgiving last year. Trying to find his grandfather,Jasper Marcellas Kiser, born October 25, 1885 in Adamns County, Indiana. Married Lydia Bachar around 1905. Lydia and Jasper had two children Noah Leroy and Lucille Kiser. Lydia died in 1915 in Mercer County, Ohio. Jasper left the two children (my husbands grandfather Leroy) with their grandparents Nathan and Elizabeth Bachar. The last I can find of him was signing for the draft in Allen county, Ohio for WWI. Family lore is that they kind of knew he went to Pennsylvania, remarried, had another family and died sometime in the late 1960's. If he was a farmer there as he was in OHio there is a good chance he never was on SS. I was excited to see that someone is doing a Kiser book. After reading a lot of the comments I know I am on the right track. For instance Jacob Kiser was a brother to Richard Kiser, my husbands ggggrandfather. I need to know if there are any Kiser's from this Mercer and Franklin County,Ohio, still around this area. My husband's father died when he was five years old in 1952. His mothers house burnt with all family pictures and all family papers. So up until I started trying to make him a tree, none of his family/siblings knew anything. Appreciate hearing back.
