Jacob Kizer to Illinois from OH
Jacob Kizer (1786 OH) and wife Mary Rhonda (Rhoda) Stites (1790 PA) left OH for Sangamon Co., IL sometime around 1840. Jacob died there about 1845, but I have traced some of the children and wife.
The wife is found with dau. Mary Ann (1823 OH) Stickel in 1900 Census in Long Creek, Macon, IL. Dau. Phoebe (1818 OH) married Ezekiel Shinkle in 1839 in Sangamon, IL. Dau. Elizabeth (1814 KY) married Thom. Ashmore in Scioto Co., OH in 1840. Sons Jacob R (1833 OH) and John S (1817 OH) are found together in 1850 Census is Macon, Macon, IL. Later John is found in Round Grove, Marion, MO, and Jacob has moved to Missouri by 1880.
I am now trying to figure out where in OH this family came from. Can anyone tell me where Shelvino, OH is located?
Other children I have been unable to trace are : Milton (1809 OH) poss. Champaign or Green Co OH; Benjamin M (born 1811, OH); Rhoda (1828 OH) poss. Married James M Brown in 1848 in Dewitt, IL;
