Hello.
My great great Uncle Fred Mahan was married to Rose Knecht. They lived in Monticello, FL, where my mother grew up. She has very very fond memories of Rose, also her middle name. To my understanding Rose was a very sweet and kind woman to my mother and never did have children of her own. Fred owned the Mahan Nursery and became quite a Monticello, FL, figure with his beautifcation works and societal activities. She and Fred are both buried in Monticello, FL in their own cemetery on nursery grounds, I believe now near a bank. I have visited it a few times throughout my life. My mother tells me Uncle Fred had his dog buried with him, too. I have cousins and an uncle still living in Monticello.
