I'm looking for any information on John Kraus from Germany to Brooklyn, NY. Here is the information as I have it:
John Kraus b about 1855 in Germany. Came to the US in 1857 (?? Hard to read on the census) and naturalized in 1874. He was either a barber (family lore) or a laborer at a paint factory (1920 census).
His wife died before the 1920 census (widowed).
Had 4 children:
Frank Kraus (b about 1895)
William Kraus (b about 1897, Married a Loretta)
Matilda Kraus (b about 1900)
John G. Kraus (b about 1892 Brooklyn, NY, died 1931)
John married Esther Grace Flynn and had four children.
Anyone who has information on him or this family, please let me know.
