LOUIS J. KRUSE, 93, of Hardwick, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Ashton Care Center, Pipestone.
Born Aug. 8, 1913, in White, S.D., he was the son of John and Trena Veen Kruse. He married Henrietta Wolf Jan. 9, 1936. She died Dec. 30, 1975. He married Jean Anderson Ringner June 6, 1980, in Edgerton. She died March 11, 1999.
He was raised and attended school near Rock Rapids, Iowa. After marriage, they lived near Little Rock, Iowa, and Org, where he worked as a farm laborer. In 1944, they moved to a farm near Melvin, Iowa, until 1955, when they moved to a farm near Little Rock. In 1967, they moved to Edgerton. After his second marriage, they lived in or near Pipestone. After retirement, he raised sheep and ponies.
Surviving are three children, Jim (Lorenza) Kruse, Jasper, Robert (Donna) Kruse, Pipestone, Gene Kruse, Hardwick; one sister, Margaret Goodwill; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hartquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel.
The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hartquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne.
