My husband's great grandfather was named Knud Valdemar Alexander Kruse. When he came to this country he spelled Kruse with 2 U's. I am not sure when he dropped the second U. His Kruse family came from Korsor, Denmark. Kiel Germany that you speak of is just across the border from Korsor. Knud was educated at a school in Kiel for ship building architecture. He came to the US abt. 1874 as a ship caarpenter. One of his brothers named Peter Hansen Kruuse immigrated to Viedma, Argentina. Can't find a thing about the Kruuse's during the late 1800's.in Argentina
