Well, I found my book. Christian Kruse is listed and guess what? He is in the same unit as my Friedrich Kruse: Comal County Militia Co. C, 1 Reg, 31 Bde, TST; enrolled 15 Feb 1862. Both men enrolled on this same date. Another reason to believe that they were connected. Christian Kruse is interred at the Kruse Cemetery near Clear Springs, Texas. This is the other information listed: Not drafted, Precinct 9 & 10, Comal County (MR-Jul63)Also listed in Eckhart's Artillery Battery, residence given as Comal County, paroled by CAPT William Davis, 18 NY CAV (I10) 2 Service Record Documents available (I10) In 1870 Census: age 28 Guadalupe County- Seguin Post Office, occupation: farmer (C70) (Guad Cem). Ship records were found in the book:GEUE, 1970 GEUE, C.W. & E.H.; NEW HOMES IN A NEW LAND...; WACO: TEXIAN PRESS 1970 Christian and Christine (mother) left Bremen 24 Mar 1860. Their destination was New Braunfels. Possible arrival 23 Nov 1860. Same as Friedrich and Sophie Kruse. Families 16072 and 16073 on the Texas Seaport Museum database. Christine married Christian Dauer June 20, 1861 in Comal County . THey are also buried in the Kruse Cemetery. Hope this helps. Let me hear from you.
