I have just published a new book on the Clays of VA and KY and the Cecils of MD, VA and KY: Kentucky Clay: Eleven Generations of a Southern Dynasty. I have a doctorate in history and have researched for years untangling data on the two families: 6th gen Wm Clay married 6th gen Rebecca Cecil. I hope it will answer some family questions and will give you a picture of what it was like when our ancestors landed here then moved across VA to the sourthern Appalachians and through the gaps into KY.
