Diane,
My husband's grandmother was Martha Mathilda M. Laack who I am told was born in Pommern on Oct 4, 1871. She was the daughter of Karl F.A. Laack , b. 1848 in Germany (not sure where) and Bertha Brehmer, b. 1851 in Broitz, Germany. Mathilda died in McHenry Co., ND in abt 1961. Her parents died in Ashland Oregon in the early 1900's.
