Wow, that's really intresting. My dads father (William) was actually from Finland, he married Fannie, thus the laakkonen family was born. William and Fannie had four boys, Bill, Ronny, Jim, and Robert (my father) Laakkonen. Bill, Ronny, Jim and Robert all married, and had children, but I am the only grand daughter, all the others were boys. William has long since passed away, but Fannie is still alive, and still very keen and witty at the age of 94. She is actually living in Superior, Wisconsin. As for me, if I do ever marry, I will keep the name Laakkonen, for I've grown quite attached to it. Nice 2 hear from you Steve. :)
