Very nice to hear from you. My Father is Michael Laaper. He changed his name to Michael from Giel right before marrying in 1963. He was born in Utrecht, Holland on Jan 04, 1941. He left for Canada in 1960 I believe, and settled in New Brunswick. Some other siblings also moved to Canada, some settling in Ontario, and one brother joined him in Fredericton. His name is Ted (Theo I believe).

I spent 6 months in Utrecht at the old family house on Koolhovenstraat back in 1984. My uncle Nol was living there at the time. He passed away about 10 years ago I believe.
Please send me any info you find. I would really like to learn about our most ancient roots.
