Hi,
This is my first visit to the Labadie forum. I am looking for information about Eleonora Heliodore Descomps dit Labadie, who was the wife of Thomas C. Sheldon of Detroit, Michigan. The years I'm interested in are the early 1800's (Circa 1815-1835). Thomas C. Sheldon is mentioned in the obituary of my husband's ggg-grandmother, Maranda Olmsted. The obituary states that Thomas Sheldon & his wife (Eleonora) adopted Maranda when she was a young child, although it doesn't mention anything about what happened to her parents. Maranda was married at the age of 18 (in 1833) at the home of Thomas & Eleonora Sheldon, on Jefferson Ave. in Detroit, Michigan. Can anybody verify this information, or tell me anything else about Eleonora, Thomas, or Maranda? Thank you.
Margaret Hans
