Lucien,
Thanks so much for mentioning Rose and Victoria Ladue(Ladoux) as being the daughters of Alex and Amelia Hamel (Amell). Amelia Hamel and Alex Ladoux have been my latest effort. All evidence pointed to Rose being Victoria's sister. I found in the 1880 census that indeed, in the same household as Philip Amell is 3 of his children and also in that same household is Alexander Ladeau with his wife Amelia and their daughter Victoria (age 9 months). I am having a difficult time trying to locate any further info on Alex Ladoux (Ladue, Ladeau) or Amelia Amell's family. Do you have any info? I've found Philip Amell in several census (1860, 1870, 1880, 1900) however, I can not verify that this is my Amelia's father Philip....especially since there are two Philip Amell's in the 1880 census (one in Dannemora, NY and one in Franklin, NY. Both born about the same time, both born in Canada, and ironically both basically named their children the same names with the same ages....I wonder if it's the same person listed in two towns!???
